I offer 1:1 and group clinical supervision to qualified and trainee counsellors/psychotherapists from any theoretical background. I am based in Methven (Perthshire) and I work both in person and on-line; I am also willing to travel to your workplace if contracted by an organisation.
I describe my approach as Relational and Integrative and my main aim as a supervisor is to support you through your learning by offering a safe space for exploration and reflection. I have an interest in holistic, somatic and creative practices and their integration with therapeutic process.
I have been working in the helping professions for more than 30 years as a practitioner, manager, counsellor and supervisor in the field of addiction, mental health and trauma. My personal interest in movement and creative expression led me to qualify and work as a Dance Movement Psychotherapist in a primary school, a residential home for adult living with learning difficulties and the an NHS ward for older adults affected by dementia, as well as offering group movement psychotherapy to clients in secondary treatment for addiction.
Most of my current work as a counsellor is in private practice and through the Employment Assistance Programme (EAP). I have a passion for wellbeing and I offer workshops, group work and 1:1 mentoring to all practitioners of the helping profession. It is my aim and wish to facilitate body and sensory awareness through creative expression and movement as a way to prevent burn out from emotional fatigue.
Supervision fee: £45 (1 hour); £60 (1 and ½ hour) – concession rate for trainee/volunteer counsellors who fund supervision themselves .
